در این پست به بررسی یکی از تقویت کننده های صوتی (تقویت کننده قدرت کلاس AB ) می پردازیم قبل از آن  اشاره ای به تقویت کننده کلاس A و B می کنیم به طور مثال یک تقویت کننده ی کلاس A که تنها از یک ترانزیستور تشکیل شده است طوری بایاس می شود که همیشه روشن باشد و هر دو قسمت مثبت و منفی  سیگنال ورودی را تقویت نماید تقویت کننده ی کلاس B از دو ترانزیستور تشکیل شده است که یکی از آنها قسمت مثبت و دیگری قسمت منفی سیگنال ورودی را تقویت می نماید در این نوع تقویت کننده هر دو ترانزیستور تا زمانی که موج ورودی از مقدار صفر عبور نکرده روشن نخواهند شد پس از عبور از صفر مدت زمان کوتاهی طول می کشد تا ترانزیستور روشن شود ( مدت زمانی که ولتاژ به 0.7 ولت برسد) در این  مدت زمان کوتاه که سیگنال تقویت نمی شود ممکن است موجب اعوجاج در سیگنال خروجی شود راه حلی وجود دارد که این مشکل را حل نماید.
